I would highly recommend the newest book from David Alan Black "The Jesus Paradigm." Brother David does a great job in pinpointing the problems of today's churches and Christians and providing Biblical solutions to those problems in a practical way. The book is just the right length, and very easy to read and understand for the average person. The book deals with problems of cultural Christianity and the danger of mixing Christianity and politics for the purpose of creating a supposed "utopian America." It cries out for the believer to get back to Kingdom living instead of living for self.

And

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." (Declaration of Independence)

Notice that when a government, "…becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" the people are to return it to the proper place and function.

However, what happens when that "consent of the people" is in error, against God's word, against God's laws, is evil, wicked, and utterly depraved? In which the majority of people in America are. How many people could we walk up to and ask "give me your testimony" and that testimony is dead on in line with the true gospel of Jesus Christ and the Bible?

Getting back to the government issue, what happens when that consent of the people is ignorant, evil, depraved, and twisted? Well, then that twisted consent sets up a wicked and depraved government that abuses its people, creates laws in the land that are odious, and utterly wrong morally, economically, and socially it becomes totally wrong. And such is the case of our current government, the consensus of the consent of the people was wrong in voting for the current usurpers, socialists, communists, and frauds. I look at the current government and say you people voted for that? You actually voted for Obama?

So what do we do?

In order for change first of course we trust Christ and rely on Him completely we ought not to worry about all these things either He is in control or He's not and to me He is. As far as government is concern, it requires education--education of individuals and our children and education of people speaking to people about the issues. When I speak of education of our children I mean our Christian children they are to be taught God, the gospel, and His word then our traditions and freedoms. There will always be children not taught these things. I am absolutely disgusted and marvel at so-called "Christian" parents that put their children in public schools! I am more in shock and marvel at so-called "Christian" parents in California that still have their children in public schools even after the latest report coming out of the California public school system.

"A group of parents in a California school district say they are being bullied by school administrators into accepting a new curriculum that addresses bullying, respect and acceptance -- and that includes compulsory lessons about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community that will be taught to children as young as 5 years old." It just gets to the point of frustration and disbelief at what I read or hear about the ongoing ignorance and stupidity, and the outright heresy. Now just when I thought it couldn't get anymore unBiblical or heretical it does! Go here and read the outrageous level of unBiblical thinking of these people, and understand with beliefs like this they are in no way Christians!

A Decline in Christians?

In a recent article titled, "Are you a Schizophrenic Christian?" author Gary DeMar uses a nice thesis statement in the form of a question that sums up Christians and Christianity today. He asks, after laying out several oppositional questions and answers of what has changed, "What has changed? The beliefs, attitudes, and actions of today’s Christians." This one sentence is right on the mark to sum up the whole problem.

One can’t help but think that this can’t be true? However, in a recent survey that shocked many it was discovered that the number of people in America claiming no religion grew.

And it also found, "The percentage of Christians in America, which declined in the 1990s from 86.2 percent to 76.7 percent, has now edged down to 76 percent. Ninety percent of the decline comes from the non-Catholic segment of the Christian population, largely from the mainline denominations, including Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Episcopalians/Anglicans, and the United Church of Christ. These groups, whose proportion of the American population shrank from 18.7 percent in 1990 to 17.2 percent in 2001, all experienced sharp numerical declines this decade and now constitute just 12.9 percent." What the liberal news media and others did not mention was that in the survey they also found a decline in Eastern Religions and Judaism. But growth in Baptists, Mormons, Muslims, Atheists and New Religions such as Wiccans and self-described pagans. America is turning away from her Christian foundation and becoming the religious "melting-pot" as it did with immigrants.

But hold on a minute! Let's think about this. Can it be said that true Christians are forsaking God and becoming something else? The survey does not say that only that the number of people saying they have no religion has jumped. While it is true that it appears "Christians" are decreasing in number, we have to ask which Christians? Some points to remember:

1. America is not a Christian nation.

2. America is not governed by a Christian government.

3. A person is a Christian because God has called a saved them; not because Mom or Dad, Grandma, or uncle Bob was one.

Pay attention to another important quote from the survey, "Most of the growth in the Christian population occurred among those who would identify only as "Christian," "Evangelical/Born Again," or "non-denominational Christian." The last of these, associated with the growth of megachurches, has increased from less than 200,000 in 1990 to 2.5 million in 2001 to over 8 million today. These groups grew from 5 percent of the population in 1990 to 8.5 percent in 2001 to 11.8 percent in 2008. Significantly, 38.6 percent of mainline Protestants now also identify themselves as evangelical or born again." (http://www.americanreligionsurvey-aris.org/)

What is the point? Well, the true number of "real Christians" probably can not be determined. But it really does not matter because God cares little for growth in numbers. We must get back to what the Bible declares a Christian to be. The numbers coming in for "megachurches" is huge because many in those places know not God or our Lord Jesus Christ at all. The trend today is to make me feel good, make me money, and make me happy. So denominations and megachurches cater to that. We must judge any profession of faith on what the Bible declares it to be—being born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and walking in faith. God has and will call those that He will; He has His true Church the remnant. The name Christian is devoid of substance if one is not able to profess from the heart the kind of salvation the Bible declares it to be. People believe wrong, are taught wrong, and act wrong totally divorced from the teaching of God's word the Bible.

Many name Christian but lack the substance and Spirit because, as Brother Gary wrote, "What has changed? The beliefs, attitudes, and actions of today’s Christians."

Lord God Almighty, I ask not to be enrolled amongst the earthly great and rich, but to be numbered with the spiritually blessed.

Make it my present, supreme, persevering concern to obtain those blessings which are spiritual in their nature, eternal in their continuance, satisfying in their possession.

Preserve me from a false estimate of the whole or a part of my character; May I pay regard to my principles as well as my conduct, my motives as well as my actions.

Help me never to mistake the excitement of my passions for the renewing of the Holy Spirit, never to judge my religion by occasional impressions and impulses, but by my constant and prevailing disposition.

May my heart be right with thee, and my life as becometh the gospel. May I maintain a supreme regard to another and better world, and feel and confess myself a stranger and a pilgrim here.

Afford me all the direction, defence, support, and consolation my journey hence requires, and grant me a mind stayed upon thee.

Give me large abundance of the supply of the Spirit of Jesus, that I may be prepared for every duty, love thee in all my mercies, submit to thee in every trial, trust thee when walking in darkness, have peace in thee amidst life’s changes.

Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief and uncertainties..

God bless America and the world? The Scriptures say, “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” God blessed it all during the six days of creation, and he made man “and God blessed them” (Genesis 1:28) but evil came in because of disobedience. It’s very simple and it worked this way, you had man subservient and lower than God created by God. Man is created by God and is under His authority. Man is to be under God’s authority because God has the right to be in authority over us. He is the supreme creator, judge, ruler, king of the universe, He is God Almighty!

God stated a command and a rule of obedience. The all-wise, all knowing, master is suited for supreme authority over His creation in which he laid the first rule. He begins with a positive “thou mayest” thus stating what we could do—“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.” BUT He says, “…of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Thus follows the negative “thou shalt not” why? Because man would die that everlasting spiritual death; separated from the God that formed him.

The command is the simplest of childhood education “Do not do it.” The great blessings of God was displayed in the garden shown by the plentifulness of life-giving trees, but to know of the faithfulness one tree of hundreds was forbidden. And thus by the subtly of satan the woman was deceived but Adam sinned and in Adam all men died. That it is disobedience to a simple command that you must be under the authority of God. The evil of the public school system is the foisting off of humanism; teaching children there is no God and the old lie is retold that we can be as gods. And since then people have been, and continue to, rebel against God because it’s in our nature and that's why Christ comes and gives us a new nature.

Why should God bless America? America is wicked and has done wicked things. Now there are good Godly Christian people in America, just like England for example it’s wicked but there are good Godly people there as well. If we look at America today no one, no one, in their right mind could vote for the impostor BHO (Barack Hussian Obama) because of this that means all these people are not in their right mind or thinking correctly. There is nothing good about BHO evil, disgust, disgrace, blood shedder, death, socialism, communism is his agenda. These are facts and we need not belabor the point.

However, as Christians living in America what is our right what can we do? First, our chief and utmost goal as I have stated over and over again is the declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Second, we are to be about living our lives as good Christians as we can we must rely on the Holy Spirit to fill us to the degree that our lives are exemplary as Christians. Putting forth the example of Jesus Christ; living with the power of Christ in us in the world so others may see. Men’s hearts will change, and their thinking and attitudes about things in the world, political, social, and economic matters will change when their heart is changed by the gospel, and the love of God and the truth of Christ comes into their lives they will then express that in their lives. Death, murder, profane, lies, idolatry, covetousness, drunkenness, lust, and the like is from a blackened heart, and you cannot be a person like BHO and claim to be a Christian there is no possible way.

Third, what then? Here we are Christians living in the Republic of America. What do we do? First, understand the United States is run by godless heathen people we have to get this in to our minds and thinking. Do not believe that this country of ours is run by Godly Christian people it is not! Our mayors are corrupt, our governors are corrupt, our courts are corrupt, our supreme court is corrupt, banks, corporations, schools, colleges, and our federal government is corrupt. Everything is corrupt. Second, we live our life in this corrupted world bearing and declaring the truth of the Gospel. That is what changes men, people, and governments either the gospel is efficacious or it’s not. We bring to bear our convictions of the truth of the Bible in our everyday living we must do this; we must let our Christian worldview permeate our lives and extend it out wherever we can. We have the right because we are citizens of the Republic of America, which was built on Christian principles which is a fact you can research it for your self, to be involved in the social, political, and economic processes. That means using your Christian worldview wisely when voting; be it for mayor, governor, senator, president, or matters that involve our social structure. We have to bring the Bible and our Christian worldview to bear on those subjects. And when we do that with the power of God helping us men’s lives will change.

I often think much on matters that are of concern to many. One is that I fear our country has taken an extreme, unimaginable, and horrific turn for the worse. Daily it is clear that the Constitution is being phased out and overridden. There are many that would love to see it thrown out or changed altogether. The reason they give is to make it updated to conform to the new “social” norm. There can be no doubt that the election of the impostor that now illegally resides as president is a usurper brought profound and horrendous change. Evidences abound to this new administration’s inability to keep our country intact, and in fact, welcome the slow painful and forceful transition into socialism and communism.

What is to become of our country?

No one can predict the future. We can only look to God and the problems of the day and attempt to plan for the future. It is not difficult to run America. Our founders did the work for us by the rule of the Constitution, it’s that simple. We must get back to the Bible and the Constitution if we are to recapture the America that was and the America that can be. It is only those, which have now been exposed, that seek to turn America away from its roots, and replace it with a deformed, perverted, socialistic, humanistic statism.  

So, what can you do?

1. Educate yourself and your children on the roots of our country and learn the founding documents that were left us as a rule and guide.

2. Speak up and out about open and secret abuses that is encroaching upon us.

3. Most importantly trust God and lean on Him for faith and direction.

4. We must look to God in Jesus Christ, be faithful, and trust in His grace and mercy in our lives.

Look up you Saints!

Today is truly a very sad day, a "Black" day, and one of extreme saddness. But by the grace of our Lord God I hope to encourage you in this short comment.

Our Master Jesus says,

"…then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

Look to Christ and not man. Do not be fearful or afraid. Let not your heart be troubled for your citizenship is in heaven, and you are to mind the things of heaven not of earth. Set your heart and mind on things above where Christ dwells look to Him and trust in His grace. We are already victors through Him that loved us, and have overcome by faith. Christ is King and Judge He is the same yesterday, today, and forever and will never change in power or revelation.

Heaven is our permanent kingdom not a kingdom on earth. Invest yourselves in the Kingdom of Heaven where Christ is King, Ruler, Judge, and the righteous Lord of all. Our freedom comes from Him not a wicked nation on earth.

All praise and glory to Him! Amen!
