So often we get bogged down with "things to do" it seems there is never enough time to do everything. The key is to prioritize the work or tasks with what is most important or pressing at the time. It seems, for me, that I have so much to do but so little time. There are things that have to be done, things that should be done, things that must be done, and things that I want to get done. With working a full time job and trying to keep up with things is hard. I'm sure we've all dealt with this from time to time. It's work, repairs, bills, study, writing, etc., all of which can be taxing. But God good and always gives us a plan and the strength to do what needs to be done. I often struggle to keep up. I do not see the point in mindless drivel. What is the point of myspace or facebook? If I'm going to write something it should be meaningful and helpful to others; not simple "sup dude?" To waste you time and mine is an offense. We just finished watching the story of Liz Murray Homeless to Harvard. This is what can be done with a vision and effort. Another thing that makes me sick is the constant flip flop of people who say something, and then for fear of offending suddenly take it back. The latest from John Hagee is a perfect example. If you or I are going to say something and you're truly convinced of it and believe it then say it! Don't back down for fear of offending. God help us!

Saturday 5-10-08

I often hear people say "I don't believe in God" or "There is no God." The main reason for this is because to believe God or in God requires faith and belief. However, belief in a person comes two ways. One, when you are convinced by enough evidence, in all forms, that they are real. Two, when you have meet them. Let's say I doubted, having never met him, that George Washington ever existed. However, when I was shown all the "evidence" that he did indeed exist what should my answer be? A fool would only say no. The same goes for someone our contemporary if we never met them and someone says they are real and then you met them what is your answer? Again, a fool would say no. So it is with God He does exist and has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. I believe Christ because evidence says He is real, but most importantly because I have met Him. He came to me in my darkest hour and showed Himself real. He can for you as well.

Saturday 5-3-08

I was sick for four days with a strain of some new cold. It starts with a cough then a clogged throat and then achy muscles and fatigue. It actually takes about seven full days to work through it. I took all natural herbs and recovered just as quick as I would if I had taken OTC drugs. Thank God for His mercy on His servant! It's that time of the year again and that means mowing and pruning. Then make all the repairs you can before it gets to hot. Before we know it, it will be October and I'll have to start preparing for winter all over again. My wife's birthday is tomorrow; God has truly blessed her. Ron Paul has a new book out, and I encourage eveyone to get a copy and read it!

4-20-08

I'm working on some articles that I pray will be a blessing to many. I get the old writer's block now and then, but God always manages to pull me back to that which is important. If we believers can remember that all we do is for His glory and to the propagation of the gospel, we would be much more focused on our spiritual duties. Be looking for updates to the articles soon. Pray for us, pray for our situation, and pray for His glory to be manifested in us His servants. I leave you with a passage that exemplifies our desire when teaching. "Therefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to command you what is fitting, yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you…" (Philemon 1:8,9)

4-15-08

Not only was it April 15th the biggest American heist (tax day) of the year, but we had family over yesterday that we had not seen in almost five years. Very nice visit. It was like getting to know one another all over again. :) People always continue to amaze me. Thanks for the visit Mom and Sis. Be careful on the way back. Love you!

4-6-08 It’s in the Mind!

I’ve wanted to get this book and read it for sometime now. It’s in the mind or so he says? I think this has some validity to it.

I want it now!

This is just like Christians today! I Want It Now/Oompa Loompa - Veruca Salt

3-28-08

I’m writing this quick post before I’m off to work. The logo is done and we should be posting it soon. I’m working with someone on the new look for the front page as well. I modified the Forum a bit this morning– trying to make practical use of resources. Also, I’m working on an article about the Church; I will post it as soon as I can. Praise God for His truth!

Brother Mark

Why I Blog?

I wondered that myself. I think I blog because I have something to say at times. I don’t like to write out of my mind–I prefer to write my thoughts down or record them and then write it out. I always had a difficult time at writing simply because I don’t think I’m good at it. This blog is intended to help others look to the things above; even if it includes my ramblings once and a while.  It is my view of life in the Faith, life in the world, and life in America.

Thanks for listening, Brother Mark

Why we need to study and understand doctrine

Many Christians say we need to teach Christianity. That’s true and we need to teach truth and right doctrine. Let me say this, in the first century all of the teaching of the gospel or doctrine was of “word of mouth”–people would teach others by telling it. There was no written record of doctrine or the gospels except for the Old Testament. This is how it started.

Peter said concerning this form of teaching, “Moreover I will endeavor that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” (2 Peter 1:15,16)

The writers of the gospels and epistles had what was called amanuensis’ or secretaries that would write down what the Holy Spirit was communicating to these authors. As the years progressed and the medium began to change like papyri, vellum, paper and such, the quality become more of a “permanent” record.

We had individual laymen and ministers commenting on the word of God, we had the Didache, which was a type of rule or compilation of the teaching of the apostles. Still further you had sermons, books, and letters that helped define teaching and doctrine. But always, always, the basic principle of learning and teaching Christianity came by reading and studying God’s Word. We get this from the Old Testament in Joshua for example.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

And in the New Testament.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

This is the mandate of every individual Christian to study and pray to understand the Scriptures relying on the Holy Spirit to guide him or her. Up until the 15th century or so by the time of Tyndale’s first published edition of the English New Testament in 1525 the only way Christians could learn was that they had to go to Church to hear sermons. The problem was it was the Catholic Church and it was all in Latin. So if you did not know Latin then you were in the dark. If (a big if) people could get a copy of the Scriptures then they could read it for themselves, but that was difficult and dangerous. This is the horror of the dark ages when the evil institution of Roman Catholicism put people in bondage to control them.

So, when Bibles became available by 1611 there was a huge Bible that was put in Churches it was chained to a desk and people could go and read it, but individual people having their own copy of a Bible was still rare. The Roman Catholics did not want people having their own Bibles, why? Because they might read it for themselves and become saved and leave the Catholic Church.

Again, when Bibles, after 1525 and 1611 began to be produced, people could then read them on their own. Now down through the ages we had word of mouth, sermons, books, letters, and then we could get our own Bibles, then we had the advent of sound through the reeled tape for audio that came into use, and then radio and television. Then we had cassette tape, which dominated for many, many, years. Then came CD (Compact Disk) which holds a huge amount of information. Then computers, the Internet, and DVD’s (Digital Video Disks) and now MP3’s and Memory Sticks (SDs or MCs). The basic format and medium for the Christian to use is still the Bible. Good old leather and paper Bibles.

An example of the over abundance is this. Let’s say you love tomatoes and you go to a restaurant and there is a table twelve feet long filled with tomatoes you have hundreds of tomatoes to chose from and eat thus you’re inundated with tomatoes. That’s kind of the way it is today in the area of Christian teaching to the point were you are taught so many differing views, and on different topics, it throws individuals into confusion.

You get all these different views and people become confused because they don’t know what’s true. And because you have Bible teachers, ministers, and evangelists that will teach you, even if the plain text is there, their twisted views of their own ideas instead of letting the Scriptures speak.

This is a difficult time in the Church and this means we need to get back to correct teaching, we need to get back to studying the Scriptures for ourselves coupled with good Bible study tools. The question is this, why do people refuse what the Bible says? Because they are confused and have little faith, and because of the twisted teachings.

We need to study yes, we need to hear good Bible teaching yes, but it has to be truth—true and faithful Bible teaching. Why? Because the Bible says it is good for our edification. What does that mean? It means to build us up to make us stronger in the faith and what we believe.

You can’t cease to pray, read, study, and hear the word of God. If you do altogether you will dry up. You will become unfruitful. God and His word by Jesus Christ and the help of the Holy Spirit will foster growth and wisdom if we apply our hearts and minds to the task.

We need discipline and doctrine we need Biblical truth. We must study from a faithful version like the King James version in doing so we know we will be getting the Word of God unadulterated and not watered down. We must be aware that our enemy (satan) has, does, and will do everything, in subtle but powerful ways, to pervert the words of God. The enemy knows he can’t change the final word of God, so he introduces through so-called theologians, scholars, etc. to provide validity to the error corrupt versions that remove or add words, change phrases, etc. then it’s disseminated out to the gullible Christian masses. A version can be corrupt but the final word of God can not be.

This then creates confusion when a hundred different Bible teachers, pastors, scholars, and even laymen use these corrupted translations. Peter said this would happen. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” (2 Peter 2:1)

The goal of the enemy is to kill, rob, and destroy, “…the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.” (John 10:10) And to twist the truth creating wrong doctrine. And if false doctrine is created, proclaimed, and believed then confusion and error reign.

Here’s how it works. False translations are made. These translations are sold in mass to seminaries (or I like to call them cemeteries) which in turn teach out of these false versions and subsequent false doctrine follows. Then these men (and women God forbid) are sent out to churches, they in turn teach it to the people, which they in turn believe and become entrenched in error. It’s a killer cycle with devastating consequences.

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:11-16)

The above verses are the reason why we need doctrine. Not just any doctrine, but correct faithful doctrine. What is there to be fearful of? What is there we don’t want to give up in obeying all of God’s truth? When Christians believe error and false doctrine it’s very difficult to convince them of truth. There is so much error being disseminated today that the truth is looked upon as error itself. We have history in the Church and that history dictates we hold fast to correct doctrine. Jude says to “contend for the faith.” We must be faithful in what we teach, and each generation should be just as faithful to continue the good work of God in purity and truth!

It comes down to this. There are those that teach everything true in God’s word, and are faithful to Him by the grace of the Holy Spirit. These men are learning, studying, and teaching, in all forms, the absolute truths of the word of God. We should seek them out, pray for them, and support them.

May God grant your eyes to see and your ears to hear His truth!

Amen?

New Logo Coming

Greetings once again my brothers and sisters. I wanted to update you on a couple of things. We have modified the web site a bit — more clear, easy to find items, and friendlier. I also wanted to mention that we are going to be contracting with a logo design company to create a custom logo for us. We’re excited that we will have a permanent logo for the King’s House, and pray that we glorify God with it. As long as we’ve been on the Internet, and through various design changes, we’re glad to be locking it down after all these years.

Blessings!

Brother Mark

Is it over?

We had a great study this morning in John chapter nine. Notice especially verse four.

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)

We took some time in this verse to look and think about especially part b. “…the night cometh, when no man can work.” Wow! Jesus says here there will come a time when we can’t work the work. Does He mean earn to make a living? No, I don’t believe so. I was reminded by the Holy Spirit about 2 Timothy 4:3,4 - “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” Are we there now? Is it over? People do not want to hear Biblical truth these days, which is sad. Remember God always had and will always have a remnent according to grace that serves Him. No compromise guys!

Working it out

We had some good rain today and high winds again, but that’s winter here in what I call Communistafornia. We are trying to nail down this blog and tweaking it a bit. We decided to use our own host for the space. We might morph all the stuff on the web site over to here? not sure though how that would work. More later.

Blessing to you all.

2-28-08

Wow! We sure have moved around a lot to find a good home for our blog own host was the place to be. More to come soon!

2-12-08

Obviously the web site is up and running again. We might be changing the look of our web site soon so check over for updates. I’m hoping to get some schooling done this year, and some more messages posted. Lot’s to do and always so little time. God bless!

2-2-08

Getting some pretty good winds again.  If your wondering, our web site is down the host says a core router failed should be up within 24 hours.

1-24-08

Over at our forum I put out an alert as to the calling back of all true Christians from this pollution and corruption we find in denominations today!

If you are one that walks with God and hears His voice, one that does not listen to the garbage foisted off on us today, if you hear with spiritual ears the things the Holy Spirit is whispering to you about what is going on, then we want to hear from you.

We’re calling out all those that can see and hear the Holy Spirit in truth. Not just those that think they do, but those that know they do. Those that know denominations are now corrupt, polluted, and not really Christian at all. Look at what you see and tell me if it is of God? Tell me if you think God is really in it?

If you feel this and want to join in with others of like mind e-mail us or get a message to us anyway you can. Time is running out and we can’t look to the things below and the things above at the same time.

We spent last weekend cleaning up the property. All this week and into the next we’re getting rain–the kind that is steady, but not the pounding type. Everyone always says we need it. I don’t like the rain much, it can cause a lot of damage. I would never be able to live in the Pacific Northwest. I don’t want to live in California anymore. I grow increasingly frustrated with each passing day. So we continue to pray to God for guidance. California’s history of liberalism converted into communism that should be obvious. My dream at presence is to obtain a piece of land clean, safe, secure, and plentiful and set up a clean modest home and create a place the brethren can retreat to. Especially in these last days. If God wills it a sanctuary if you will. God grant you the desire of your heart as well.

1-17-08

Praise God for His goodness and grace! What a God we serve. Many times people need reasons to praise Him either for something that happened, received, or what have you. How often do we just praise Him for Him–for who He is? To thank Him for being Him and looking our way. God often puts things in my mind and it’s my job to process them. Found a great sound to start the video teachings on Godtube and Youtube. One of my goals this year is to start uploading video messages. Pray for us. We are doing a bunch of clean up this weekend.

1-12-08

We had a good day today. Cleaning up after the storm that hit. Praying for guidance. Tomorrows another day!

1-6-08

Well, we’re still here! Wow what a storm gusts up to 70mph 45mph sustained winds a lot of damage. We are fine was without power for 36 straight hours. Praise God for His grace to His servants. \0/
