Scripture says, "For
when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely
for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to
die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us." (Romans 5:6-8)
And, "Who his own
self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." (1 Peter 2:24)
So there is glory in the
death of Christ? Yes, "Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ
which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and
the glory that should follow." (1 Peter 1:11)
The reason and
manifestation of God is the Lord Jesus Christ. In the death of Christ there was eternal
salvation being provided by Him from the divine plan set forth from before the world was. "According
as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by
Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will." (Ephesians
1:4,5)
