Help Judgement is coming!

Is America under judgement? Are we, or have we been, experiencing God's hand of judgement? Given the state of affairs of our nation and the nations in the world the answer can only be yes! As we have heard this past week about the problems with the Presidency, and the uncertainty of Russia, Japan, and our own economy we must with all seriousness take these things as warnings from God.

This is not meant to be a doomsday message, nor is it to be thought of as another so-called "prophetic prognostication." Contrariwise, it is a message originated from prayer, and a somber look at the events in the world contrasted with Scripture. I love my country. This is the greatest country and nation on earth. If we look at the nations of the world today; there is not one like unto ours. The beauty of our land is overwhelming. Moreover, at the first it was established in purity and with God in mind. However, if our founding fathers were here today they would be appalled and disgusted at what we have become.

It's imperative that we seek the council of God in times like this, and be ready to prepare ourselves for the things to come. Let's look at Scripture to understand where we are at, what is to happen, and what we need to do to prepare ourselves. As we go through these Scriptures we can—because of the similarity in circumstances—place the name of America where it speaks if Jerusalem, Israel, Jacob, and son on.

Where America is at

The following verses are offered without comment; please read them carefully!

For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings [are] against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide [it] not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Say ye to the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him]: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor [is] in your houses. What mean ye [that] ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts. Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing [as] they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts (Isaiah 3:8-17).

Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, [that] they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, [till] wine inflame them! (Isaiah 5:11).

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto [them that are] wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto [them that are] mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! (Isaiah 5:20-23).

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness [which] they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and [that] they may rob the fatherless! And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation [which] shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory? (Isaiah 10:1-3).

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? (Isaiah 29:15).

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! (Isaiah 30:1,2).

And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely. (Jeremiah 5:2).

How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by [them that are] no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. (Jeremiah 5:7).

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these [things] unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land… (Jeremiah 5:19).

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen [it], saith the LORD (Jeremiah 7:8-11).

I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, [and] thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when [shall it] once [be]? (Jeremiah 13:27).

Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD…I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah (Jeremiah 23:1,14).

Because they have committed villany [senselessness, disgraceful folly, of immorality, profane actions, disgrace, contumely disgrace] in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and [am] a witness, saith the LORD (Jeremiah 29:23).

That they have committed adultery, and blood [is] in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through [the fire], to devour [them] (Ezekiel 23:37).

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood (Hosea 4:2).

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (Hosea 4:6).

Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me (Hosea 7:13).

Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. Her princes within her [are] roaring lions; her judges [are] evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. Her prophets [are] light [and] treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law (Zephaniah 3:1-4).

…because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked… because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; 7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the [same] maid, to profane my holy name: 8 And they lay [themselves] down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned [in] the house of their god (Amos 2:4b, 6b-8).

…yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD (Amos 4:6b, 8b, 9b, 10b, 11b).

Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth…They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly (Amos 5:7,10).

Woe to them [that are] at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, [which are] named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!… Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near…That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph (Amos 6:1, 3, 6).

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail, Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; [yea], and sell the refuse of the wheat? (Amos 8:4-6).

Does not America qualify under those Scriptures? I believe they do. May God help us!

What will happen if we do not amend our ways

If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. (Joshua 24:20).

Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [is] stretched out still (Isaiah 10:4).

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these [things] unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land [that is] not yours (Jeremiah 5:19).

Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, [that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek [them] not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD (Jeremiah 45:3-5b).

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away (Hosea 4:3).

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great (Ezekiel 24:9).

The just LORD [is] in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame (Zephaniah 3:5).

And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD… Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked. Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof…(Amos 2:3, 4a, 6a).

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: [and] because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel (Amos 4:12).

Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it [is] an evil time (Amos 5:13).

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. [Shall] not the day of the LORD [be] darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? 21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept [them]: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols (Amos 5:18-23).

The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works. Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as [by] the flood of Egypt. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only [son], and the end thereof as a bitter day. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find [it]. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst (Amos 8:7-13).

Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD [are] upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD (Amos 9:8).

We cannot suppose that we will escape judgment when God is righteous, and must punish those that are at enmity with Him. You may be saying, brother Mark how do you suppose we (America) compare to Israel of old? The very character of the nation of Israel was that she set God as their God to rule them we read.

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. And they shall know that I [am] the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I [am] the LORD their God (Exodus 29:45,46).

For what nation [is there so] great, who [hath] God [so] nigh unto them, as the LORD our God [is] in all [things that] we call upon him [for]? And what nation [is there so] great, that hath statutes and judgments [so] righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons. (Deuteronomy 4:7-9).

For the LORD our God, he [it is] that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed (Joshua 24:17).

The following examples will show that we, like Israel, made God the God of the universe our God and called on Him to rule and guide us.

" In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten…having undertaken, for the glory of God, and the advancement of the Christian faith…voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia…."

"…we, the inhabitants and residents of Windsor, Hartford, and Wethersfield…knowing where a people are gathered together the Word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union of such a people there should be an orderly and decent government established according to God…which being chosen and sworn according to an oath recorded for that purpose shall power to administer justice according to the laws here established, and for want thereof according to the rule of the Word of God; which choice shall be made by all that are admitted freemen…."

" Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power…There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations and who will raise friends to fight our battles for us."

" We, therefore, the representatives of the united States of America, in General congress assembled, appealing to the supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions…And, for the support of the declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."

" And may that infinite Power which rules the destinies of the universe lead our councils to what is best, and give them a favorable issue for your peace and prosperity."

Because we set God before us to guide, instruct, direct, and protect us at the inception of our nation, and subsequent centuries, we are therefore accountable to Him. We will, are, judged for two reasons: (1) departing from God the same of which we made long ago the only, sole, God of our nation. (2) for our sins and iniquities committed against Him and others.

What do we need to do?

For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live… Seek the LORD, and ye shall live… [Seek him] that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD [is] his name. (Amos 5:4a, 6a, 8).

Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph (Amos 5:14,15).

Jesus says seven times in the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3 "I know thy works." We are accountable Him as a people and a nation! We as a whole nation must stop the wicked and perverted ways. We must make things right with ourselves, and as a nation before God praying perhaps He would hold off His judgement. Turning and relying on the mercy of Jesus Christ our Lord to intercede for us.

Beloved, there are only two ways set before us—we continue on the present course and bring the judgement of God. The other is we, as His chosen people, begin to make things right with God, forsaking sins and the worldliness about us, living for Jesus 100%. Also praying for a reprieve, and declaring to anyone that will listen of the judgement to come so that as a people and nation God would have mercy and turn away His wrath. God help us all at this very critical time.

Amen?
