| Marks of the Apostate
(a parody of today's worldly
Christians)
Let no man deceive
you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away
first… (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in
the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and
doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1).
Paul had the sad fact revealed to him, by the Holy Spirit, that
there would be apostates in every century. He spoke what God the Holy Spirit told him, and
as heartbreaking as it is, it was important to the Holy Spirit to disseminate that
freighting truth. So what are the marks of an apostate? They get up in the morning without
prayer having no thought of God at all.
The wicked, through the pride of his
countenance, will not seek [after God]: God [is] not in all his thoughts (Psalm 10:4).
They don't read their Bible—that God so graciously has
provided them—never being convicted of its contents.
This book of the law shall not depart out
of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to
do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).
Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed (John
8:31).
They move to the T.V. and sit down to enjoy their favorite
popular Bible teacher witches like Joyce Myers. This they really love as she fills their
minds with apostasy and from her they are fed? Witchcraft!
I will set no wicked thing before mine
eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; [it] shall not cleave to me (Psalm
101:3).
They go off to work without prayer driving in their new car;
which is kept in perfect condition after hundreds of hours care.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek
those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your
affection on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:1,2).
During the commute they "do business" on their cell
phones with Gloria Copeland, Fred Price, Billy Graham, Chuck Colson, or other apostate
tapes in the background.
A man that is an heretick after the first
and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth,
being condemned of himself (Titus 3:10,11).
Once at work they park their car and set its alarm so as not to
have "thieves break in and steal."
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought
for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient
unto the day [is] the evil thereof (Matthew 6:33,34).
After being at work for a couple of hours it's time for a
morning break. They proceed outside to have a "smoke" while witnessing to
co-workers. Back to work and then it's time for lunch. They go out to eat taking a
co-worker of the opposite sex. While waiting for their lunch they sip a wine or cocktail.
After returning to work someone drops by their office, and begins to gossip or tell a
dirty joke of which they follow without conviction.
What? know ye not that your body is the
temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:19,20).
On the way home they pop in "Christian
music"—that sounds more like rock than God centered music—in the cassette
player. Filling their minds with more apostate trash. Once at home they gobble food and
drink without praying and giving God thanks. Then over to the T.V. for their favorite
sitcom or series 90210, The X Files, Nowhere Man, Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc., or to their
computer for nefarious games and stupid "chat rooms" filling their minds with
more trash.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
[which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:1,2).
Then after hours in front of the stupid box or computer they
find ten minutes for their apostate translation (NIV). Refusing to heed the warnings of
that satanic translation they read feeding themselves with error.
For the vile person will speak villany,
and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the
LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to
fail (Isaiah 32:6).
Finally after being exhausted they fall into bed, without
prayer, and begin to dream nightmares. Unmoved by them they run into the bath room for a
sleeping pill. By Sunday they awake and stuff their face with food and drink. With
newspaper in hand they catch up on the daily events. After dressing, to empress others for
Church, off they go with little Bobby in the back seat headphones blaring
"Megadeath," and little Cindy with her new homosexual Barbie dolls. They arrive
at their apostate Church built on the riches of them and friends and enter the grand
palace finding their "seats." After careful selected music, so as not to bring
the Holy Spirit down, out comes the star—the pastor—he stands and gives his
groomed, polished, and learned speech. Pouring out the apostate message of wealth, health,
compromise, and ecumenicalism! After no hard speech, so as not to move anyone to
repentance or sound as if "judging" they pick up their little savages from the
apostate Sunday school classes. Then racing out of the parking lot, running over others in
the process, they head to their favorite restaurant gorging themselves with food and
drink.
Such is the way of apostasy, such is the way of the new 20th
century Christians, and in the words of the pied piper of apostasy, Carmen, "we are
the new breed of Christian." Satan weaves his movement of apostasy preparing many for
a greater compromise to come. God help us!
