| Sermon 399
I cannot seem to understand that those
that are enemies of the gospel can be productive in society. They move along denying our
God, and openly opposing Him to their own destruction. It's the God haters that have
attempted to turn our country into heathen nation. The perversion of homosexuality,
lesbianism, ludeness, atheism, and errors of other religions have corrupted the nation
like rottenness to the bone.
All in the name of security with a "police/big brother
state" is coming upon us. The slow and meticulous onslaught of "control"
that our government is exerting on us cloaking it in the name of progress and security.
What a shame. A closet of smoke and mirrors if you will, playing on the fears of the
people not being safe. It appears that in an effort to control and make money they feel
they are the only ones that can keep us safe; to them we're helpless.
Unfortunately, some of these are nomads of their minds
disillusioned children with no vision but their own. We must keep our eyes upon Christ. We
must understand we live in two kingdoms one of Christ and one of the earthly system. Don't
expect the latter to be obedient to the first. As Christians if we lose the battle for
moral regulation what will become of us? We will either do two things. One, we will keep
in and compromise to the decay and system of principles that are corrupt. Or two, we will
take a stand, which in doing so, will place us polemically opposed to the system thereby
making us enemies of it and marked for extermination. Evil hates good and cannot coexist
with each other. Hidden behind the niceties and guise of "conservatives" lies
corruption and a power hungry monster.
How do we integrate the Church of the first century with our
modern present day? In other words, how do we live like the first century Christians
today? Do we go back and go simple like the Amish? Or do we adapt (not compromise) and use
21st century means to promote the gospel and live like the gospel? Do we deny electricity,
gas, cars, computers, etc.? Or do we use them as tools, yes, as tools.
We have to be more on guard today than they would have in the
first century for example we are, on a daily basis, overrun with pornographic images of
both men and women. The founders of our country, for example, would not have had to turn
their heads away from an explicit billboard, TV, or magazine. Oh yes, they had their
temptations but not to the degree as us.
