"Belief
may or may not imply certitude in the believer Faith almost always implies certitude even
where there is no evidence or proof (an unshakable faith in God)." (Merriam-Webster
Online Dictionary copyright © 2005)
"Belief
is usually defined as a conviction of the truth of a proposition without its verification;
therefore a belief is a subjective mental interpretation derived from perceptions,
contemplation (reasoning), or communication." (Wikipedia, Online, 2006)
We
more rightly say that we're "convinced." Often belief can change due to the
introduction of additional evidence. To be convinced means that all the evidence is in and
there is no way of disproving it.
What
we are convinced and not convinced of from the Scriptures:
GOD
- is, was, and always will be. God is real, the Creator of the entire universe. He is
eternally existent in three separate persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (see the Godhead) (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 14:1a; Psalm
19:1; Romans 1:19-21) God is Spirit (John 4:24; John 1:18) Infinite, eternal, and
unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, mercy, goodness and truth. He
is love, light, peace, personal, perfect, He is one, Lord, master, ruler, righteous, the
healer, our provider. He is constantly filled with glory. He is unchangeable (Malachi 3:6
, Hebrews 13:8) He is omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:23,24) omniscience (Psalm 139:1-4)
omnipotent (Jeremiah 32:17) He is sovereign (Isaiah 40:15) He is holy (Leviticus 11:44,45)
He is faithful (1 Kings 8:56; Hebrews 10:23) He is forgiving. He created the earth and the
universe and all things therein. He governs the physical universe (Psalm 103:9; 104:14).
JESUS
CHRIST - Is the Lord of all, He is the second person of the Godhead (or
tri-unity) He is The Son of God, God the Son, that he is 100% God and 100% man. The
express image of the invisible God. He is not made nor created but begotten of the Father.
He is God and man, God of the substance of the Father begotten "not" made. He is
man of the substance of Mary, born in the world, perfect God, perfect man, equal to the
Father as concerning His Godhead. Inferior to the Father only (during the time on earth in
His manhood). One altogether not by confusion of substance but by unity of person. For as
the reasoning soul and flesh is one man, so God and man is one Christ. He is all divinity,
the eternal Word of God, He existed from the beginning, He is eternal God.
THE
HOLY SPIRIT - He is a person with feelings and intelligence. Not a
"power or force" but a person (John 14:16; 16:17; 1 John 2:6, 3:3; Romans
8:16,26) He is the third person of the Holy Godhead. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
He distributes gifts (1 Corinthians 12) He is so much a Person that he can be
"grieved" (Ephesians 4:30) insulted (Hebrews 10:29) lied to (Acts 5:3)
blasphemed and sinned against (Matthew 12:31,32) quenched (1 Thessalonians 5:19) He is
Divine (Acts 5:4; 2 Corinthians 3:18) He is eternal, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient
(Hebrews 9:14; Psalm 139:7-10; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 2:10,11) He possesses all of the
attributes of God. He is very God, coequal, coeternal, uncreated.
GODHEAD
- The Godhead, the actual word "trinity" is not in the Scriptures, we believe
the concept, revelation, and formation is. The Godhead is present in Scripture (Acts
20:28-31; Deuteronomy 6:4, Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7; Isaiah 6:8; Genesis 18:1, 19:29; 1
Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 3:16,17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21,22; John 1:32-34; John 14:16,26;
2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 20b,21)
BIBLE
- We're convinced in the inerrant, inspired, infallible, and authoritative
Scriptures, the Bible. It is the words of God. All 66 books both Old and New testaments.
(2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:19,20; Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 19:7; 2 Samuel 23:2; Isaiah
1:2; Jeremiah 1:7,9; Ezekiel 2:7, 3:4) We believe it is a unique revelation of the only
truth. It is an unchanging revelation (but man, to his destruction sadly, has the capacity
to alter it by poor translations. We use the King James Version.) It is morally and
spiritually right. We hold to the "Verbal Plenary Inspiration View" (2 Timothy
3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Isaiah 8:20) We feel the
King James Bible is the most accurate Bible in English for believers to use today. We
reject modern translations. http://www.kingshouse.org/KJVBible.htm
VIRGIN
BIRTH - The virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is a fact. Jesus the
eternal Word, God the Son, who existed from all eternity, took upon himself the form of a
man. Being born of a woman, a virgin, (John 1:14; Matthew 1:18; Isaiah 7:14) This Mary
ceased to be a virgin "after" the birth of our Lord Jesus (Matthew 12:47; Mark
6:3; Matthew 1:25)
THE
DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION - The death of our Lord Jesus Christ is a
fact. This is the reason for the incarnation of the second Person on the Godhead, to be a
mediator for God he must be God, to represent mankind He must be a man. The penalty for
the sins of mankind, which must be done away with if man is to have fellowship with God,
was death. His Burial: He was buried in a grave (Psalm 16:10; Matthew 27:57-61; Mark
15:43-47; Luke 23:50-55; John 19:38:42) The same body that was on the cross went into the
grave and the same rose again. The Resurrection: We believe Jesus rose from the dead,
bodily, out of the tomb on the third day in triumph over satan, hell, and death. The
resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, the capstone of the faith.
(Matthew 28:1-8; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ) If Christ
had remained in the grave, His death would have been no more than that of any martyr for
the Christian faith. Yet without the vicarious sacrifice of His death His resurrection
would have presented no saving power. (Romans 1:2,4; 1 Corinthians 15:13-19; Acts 1:21,22;
1 Corinthians 15:20)
THE
ASCENSION - By the Ascension of Christ we refer to that event when He
departed from this earth in His resurrection body and was "visibly and bodily"
taken into heaven. (Mark 16:19; Luke 24:50,51; John 6:62; Acts 1:9; Ephesians 4:8-10; John
16:7, 14:16, 14:3)
THE
SINFULNESS OF MAN - We're convinced that man was created in the image and
likeness of God (this does not make us little gods) it simply means our soul existence.
(Genesis 1:26, 9:6) man was created by God Almighty and did not evolve from lower life
forms we reject the idea of "Evolution." In this created state our first parents
"Adam" which means "Mankind" were endowed by God with a free will and
possessed all that was pleasing to God. Man was good in the eyes of God (Genesis 1:31) man
fell from a state pleasing to God by an act of disobedience. Thus Sin found its advent
into the Human race (Gen.3; Rom.5:12-19, 3:10-23; 1 Timothy 2:14; Psalm 14) All men,
without respect of condition or class, are sinners before God (Romans 3:9,10,22,23; Psalm
14; Isaiah 53:6) The whole world rests under condemnation, wrath, and the curse (Romans
3:19; Galatians 3:10; Ephesians 2:3) Unregenerate men are regarded as children of the
devil, and not sons of God (1 John 3:8-10; John 8:44 ) The whole race of men are in
helpless captivity to sin and Satan (Romans 7; John 8:31-36; Ephesians 2:3) the entire
nature of man , mentally, morally, spiritually, and physically is sadly affected by sin.
(Ephesians 4:18; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Jeremiah 17:9,10)
SALVATION
- We're convinced that humanity is doomed and "without God in the world" totally
depraved, completely lost in sin, needing salvation from sin and eternal hell! Gods
plan of salvation is so simple, that the least among men can grasp it enough to experience
its transforming power. No one can be saved any other way, or by any other name other than
Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9-11; Acts 4:12) we believe that salvation is a free gift of
God by grace through faith alone. It is all the work of God. It is He that grants
repentance.
THE
CHURCH - We're convinced that "the Church" is that universal Church
composed of all genuine Christian believers of all ages, both on Earth and in Paradise,
the "total sum" of the body of Christ. (Revelation 19:6-9; Matthew 16:18;
Ephesians 3:10,21, 5:23-32; Colossians 1:18,24; Hebrews 12:22,23) The Church is not a
building that some believe--it is the "people."
HEAVEN
- We believe in a literal Heaven, the third Heaven, a place of conscience
existence, not some place that is made by the false thoughts of men. Heaven is created by
God (Genesis 1:1; Revelation 10:6) it is everlasting, immeasurable, high, Holy, Gods
dwelling place, His throne (Psalm 80:29; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Jeremiah 31:37; Psalm 103:11;
Isaiah 57:15; Deuteronomy 26:15; Psalm 20:6; 1 Kings 8:30; Matthew 6:9; Isaiah 66:1) it is
the place where Christ sits and where all Believers will be after death.
HELL
- We're convinced in a literal Hell, a place of conscience existence in torment, not a
thought or the intellect of evil. It is the place that God "prepared for the devil
and his angels" (Matthew 25:41) and is the place of torment (Luke 16:23) it is the
place of "everlasting punishment" (Matthew 25:46; Isaiah 33:14; Revelation
20:10) the body and soul suffers eternally there (Matthew 5:29, 10:28) all the
non-believers or wicked will go there unless God grants them repentance. (Psalm 9:17) it
cannot prevail against the Church (Matthew 16:18) Sheol and the Pit of the Old Testament
Hell, Hades, Gehenna, Lake of Fire, outer Darkness, Place of Torment of the New Testament
are all names of the place of torment or Hell. Hell is so awful so terrifying that it must
be the work of the Church/true believers to declare the gospel. We reject the false
doctrine of "soul sleep, annihilatism, and the second chance doctrine or saved out
hell doctrine."
TRIBULATION,
SECOND COMING, MILLENNIUM, JUDGMENT - We're convinced in that period of time
that the scriptures talk about as the "tribulation." We hold to the
Post-Tribulation position (because the Bible does), in other words the church will be here
through the tribulation, not raptured out as some teach (Daniel 7:13; Matthew 24:29; Mark
13:24-27; Luke 21:25-28) we believe this time will be fearful and that God supernaturally
will protect His people (Genesis 7:1,2, 19:17; Exodus 9:26) we believe in the literal
"Second Coming" of our Lord Jesus as he has said. What we mean is that
"bodily" Jesus will, at some point, return to this earth. ( John 14:2,3; Acts
1:11b; Revelation 1:7; 2 Peter 3:3-9; Titus 2:12,13)
This
precedes the "millennial day" of Christ we believe that Jesus will come on the
last day the 1000 year day (Revelation 20:2,4,6, 19:7-10) we hold that the return of
Christ, will come after the tribulation on the millennial day reign or pre-millennial if
one would like to call it that.
We
hold to the time the Scriptures speak of as the "judgments" all men will stand
before the judgment bar of God in order that his righteousness or unrighteousness can be
determined. Those who trust in Jesus Christ for salvation will be covered in the
Righteousness of Christ and spared eternal Hell. ( Hebrews 9:27; Psalm 89:14; Genesis
18:25; Romans 2:15,16)
WOMEN
AS MINISTERS - The Bible is absolutely against women being Pastors,
Ministers, or being in any office that has an authoritarian position. (Gen.3:16; 1
Corin.11:7,8,9,12, 14:34,35; 1 Tim. 2:11-14; 1 Tim.3:1-12; Tit. 1:6, 2:1-5) we believe
"all" Christians should proclaim the Gospel, men and women. For women to be in a
position of authority is to undermine the natural order of Gods plan and family structure.
To do so is rebellion and disobedience toward God. Women have their place. Contrary to
popular belief we oppose any from of famine theology or women in authoritative positions
within and without the Church. http://www.kingshouse.org/womenministers.htm
THE
DEVIL, SATAN, LUCIFER - We believe in the real existence of the Angel that
fell called satan, the devil, lucifer, the dragon, the old serpent. He is a real being not
a evil thought or force! We believe he sinned against God (2 Peter 2:4; 1 John 3:8) was
cast out of Heaven (Luke 10:18) he is the author of the Fall (Genesis 3:1,6,14,24) he
twists and perverts the scriptures (Matthew 4:6; Psalm 91:11,12) he is not running around
in a little red suit, he assumes the form of an angel of light (2 Corin. 11:14) he will
lose anything he thinks he is gaining (except for the wicked) (Jude 6; Revelation 20:10 )
the everlasting fires of hell are prepared for him (Matthew 25:41) he will never be saved!
he is evil, wicked, and the enemy of God. he can trouble you but, as a Christian, can
never possess you. All unregenerate men are under his power and dominion.
THE
ORDINANCES OR SACRAMENTS - The Ordinances are the outward rights or symbolic
observances commanded by Jesus which set forth essential Christian truths. The
Ordinances observed in the Bible are two in number - Water Baptism and The Lord's Supper.
It would be important to observe that for more than a thousand years after Christ no
recognized Christian author declared the number of ordinances to be seven. Water
Baptism is an ordnance made clear in the great commission (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16;
Acts 2:38). We are convinced the manner of water baptism is by immersion; however, in the
event of certain circumstances sprinkling or pouring can be acceptable such as: a soon
death or upon the event of an accident or anything that prevents an individual from being
immersed. We do not believe infants should be baptized and children under age. The formula
is clearly in the Godhead "
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). The statement of being baptized in "the name of
Jesus" is the principle of Christian Baptism as opposed to John's Baptism. We do not
believe one can be properly baptized using a formula of Jesus name only. The Lord's
Supper Jesus, at his last Passover, instituted the ordnance of the taking of the bread
and the fruit of the vine (grape Juice) as a memorial of His atoning death (Luke 22:19; 1
Corinthians 11:23,26). It is an act of obedience to the Lord's command (1 Corinthians
11:23,24). It is a memorial to the atoning death and shed blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians
11:24; Luke 22:19). It is a proclamation (1 Corinthians 11:26). It is a statement of
anticipation of the return of the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:26). It is an experience of
communion with the Lord in which the participant receives, by faith, the strength and
blessing from the savior (1 Corinthians 10:16). It is a communion/fellowship of believers
at the Lord's table--a meal; not bits of crackers and a pinch of Welch's grape juice. (1
Corinthians 10:17). The element of the bread and wine (grape Juice) is simply bread and
wine (grape juice) and in no way is "the physical" body of Jesus. We are
convinced the participation is symbolic and when received, by faith, real communion with
the Lord is experienced and the benefits of that communion may be mediated (1 Corinthians
10:16; 11:27,28,29). We reject the theory of "Transubstantiation and
Consubstantiation." The Lord's Supper must be done with reverence and respect. The
Christian must observe the warning given in (1 Corinthians 11;27-29). Eating and drinking
has to do with the MANNER of partaking; not the unworthiness of the persons. We are
convinced the Lord's Supper should be observed as much as possible one time a week or more
if possible.
WORSHIP
- Worship is that form of expression of utmost gratitude to God for what he has done.
Worship within fellowship should be worship to God and glorify Him on the earth. Worship
to God does not always involve a "charismatic" experience, but it can. The
Church/true believers must worship God in Spirit and Truth (John 4:23). It is important
for the Church/true Christians to promote and sustain an atmosphere conductive to worship
,prayer, and praise (1 Peter 2:9). The new testament Church offers to God the sacrifice of
praise (Romans 12:1; Romans 8:26). The Spirit of worship, prayer, and praise almost
without exception has brought revival, renewal, and growth to the believers. In
expression, all of us of course, desire that it comes from the heart. Our worship should
be because of the desire to know and Jesus Christ more intimately.
PRAYER
- Is very, very, important. The Christian life cannot be sustained without it. It is the
Christian's vital breath. Neglect of Prayer is grievous to the Lord ( Isaiah 43:21,22;
64:6,7). Many evils in life are attributed to the lack of prayer ( Zephaniah 1:4-6; Daniel
9:13,14; Hosea 7:13,14; 8:13,14). It is a sin to neglect prayer (1 Samuel 12:23). To
continue in prayer is a command ( Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17). It is the most
important employment that one engages their time or attention in (Acts 6:4; Romans 1:9;
Colossians 1:9). Prayer involves Intercession, Supplication, and Worship. We come to God
the Father in prayer because of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus, we pray to God the Father
(Matthew 6:9). In Jesus name (John 14:13). Through the Holy Spirit ( Romans 8:26; Jude
20). The normal mode of prayer is prayer in the Spirit, on the ground of the merits of the
Son, to the Father, in the Spirit, through the Son to the Father. Prayer should be in
Faith, simplicity, sincerity, and earnestness with persistence in the name of Jesus
accompanied at times with fasting.
THE
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT - We are convinced that the Holy Spirit indwells those
who receive Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live righteous and Holy lives (John
16:13; 14:26; Acts 1:8). We are convinced in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an
endowment of power for those who receive Christ for the work of the Christian service. We
are convinced of the "Proper Scriptural" exercise of the Gifts of the Holy
Spirit in the Bible, of course the greatest gift being Love. We hold the Spirit of God has
given to every believer one or more Gifts or Divine enablements for serving Christ. They
differ from one another (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11). We do not believe the
gifts of the Spirit have ceased. Instruction for the use of the gifts are given in (1
Peter 4:10,11). The gifts are given to believers for the edification, exhortation, and
strengthening of the body of Christ and to witness to non-believers. The manifestation of
the gifts should glorify God. We believe that the Gifts can be counterfeited, therefore it
is imperative to always check them with the word of God (1 John 4:1-3).
SPIRITUAL
WARFARE - By Spiritual warfare we mean the fighting against principalities
and powers of the devil. This is done through the scriptural practices of warfare. This is
done in the Spirit (Matthew 4:3-11; Luke 4:3-13; Ephesians 6:10-17; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
We do not believe in the practice of our ability to bind and lose or the taking authority
over the devil. Any practice that places a high value on the verbal, physical, or
otherwise of spiritual warfare, in which "we" do something is sadly missing the
real aspect of warfare. Christians are to use the WORD of GOD in warfare (Matthew 4:3-11;
Luke 4).
HOLINESS
- We are firmly convinced in the scriptural aspect of "Holiness" that is the
setting apart of the believer in which we submit to God and resist evil, unholiness, and
the devil. One is to walk in holiness and strive as much as possible to submit to the
leading of the Holy Spirit (Leviticus 20:26; Ephesians 2:21; Colossians 3:12; 1
Thessalonians 5:27; Hebrews 3:1; 1 Peter 1:15).
TITHING
- The New Testament is silent on the 10% tithe for believers. We should give from a
cheerful heart and not compulsory. www.kingshouse.org/tithing.htm
The 10% tithe was a scriptural practice in the Old Testament, and was basically used to
support the priests and the temple (Deuteronomy 14:22,23; Numbers 18:21,25-32). But as we
come to the New Testament we do not see a command to carry on with that, rather a
"Free will giving" is commended ( 2 Corinthians 9:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2). There
is no reference for the believer to give 10% of his income. However, we should give out of
our hearts as much as possible "you will give to God in how much you love Him."
SUNDAY
SCHOOL & CHILDREN'S CHURCH - We feel that children should be present in
the meetings to hear the Word of God and not be segregated. If they are disturbing the
meetings they should be removed until they can resume. If the work of training up a child
is being done at home they will not need much discipline. Children should be taught to
have respect for the Word of God and not be interrupting or rough housing. Of course if
the needs of the child arise, such as the restroom, changing of diapers, feeding, etc.,
that should be dealt with quietly and then return to the meetings. In our day children
need to hear the true Word of God and not watered down Bible lessons. Jesus never asked
the children to go to Sunday School, but to hear the good Word of God (Deuteronomy 6:7;
Matthew 5:1- 7:29; Matthew 19:13,14; Mark 10:14; Luke 18:16; 1 John 2:12).
SABBATH
OR THE LORDS DAY - We are convinced, and that from the Scriptures, that
the Sabbath was changed in the New Testament in honor of the Resurrection of our Lord
Jesus (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2). We believe the Sabbath was the seventh day of the
week (Exodus 20:9-11; Deuteronomy 5:15). The Sabbath was a sign between the Lord and the
Jews (Ezekiel 20:10-12). The Lord's day commemorates the Resurrection of Christ (Psalm
118:22-24; Luke 24:1-3; 33-36). For the Church, the Lord's day is a time of rest,
Christian activity, rejoicing, and worship. It is made for man (Mark 2:27). Jesus is Lord
of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28). It is the first day of the week (John 20:26; Acts 20:7; 1
Corinthians 16:2). The purpose is that being dead to our own afflictions and works, we
meditate on the kingdom of God. It is a type of spiritual rest by which believers were to
cease from their own works, and allow God to work in them. He meant that there should be a
stated day on which they should fellowship to hear the scriptures, they should specially
employ in meditating on His works, and be thereby trained to piety. There should be some
intermission of labor. In short, we must desist from all of the acts of our own mind, that
God working in us, we may rest in Him (Hebrews 3:13; 4:3,9). For it is no small incitement
to the zeal of man to know that he is engaged in imitating his Creator. Christians
therefore, should have nothing to do with a superstitious observance of days (Colossians
2:16; Galatians 4:10,11; 1 Corinthians 16:2). We should aim at a constant rest from our
own works, in order that the Lord may work in us by His Spirit. That every individual, as
he has opportunity, may diligently exercise himself in private. In pious meditation on the
works of God, and at the same time, that he hear the word of God and receive the
sacraments. That we may avoid oppressing those who are subject to us. The Christian on the
Lord's day should with all diligence to stop doing anything that is worldly, unuseful, or
dishonoring to the Lord. We should strive to pray, read the scriptures, and worship Him.
There is nothing wrong in "doing good" on the Lord's day just as long it is not
cloaked in deception to please oneself. However, I would caution us to be careful how we
define "doing good."
CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION & EDUCATION - We're convinced that the Christian believer
should make every effort to educate the Children in the home (Deuteronomy 6:7). We
believe, given the state of the educational system and the state of the country towards
Christianity, that Christians should not have their children in
public school. Any teaching they receive is polluted in Humanism, New age, and Evolution.
Children are not yet strong enough to combat the evil and the tide of spiritual warfare
that is needed to overcome that. At best placing them in public school is only training
them to be all of the things that God would not want them to be. Home schooling also
is a very good way of educating them in the Biblical ways. It is imperative that we pass
down the Christian heritage to our children for they will be the future of Christianity.
THE
GOVERNMENT, FEDERAL, STATE and LOCAL - The Government, and the non-believers
that make it up, often rule in wickedness (Luke 4:5,6; Revelation 13:2; Daniel 10:13,20).
We believe that the People of God should do all they can to bring the light of the gospel
to it. We also believe that the laws that are "good" can and do produce peace;
the laws that are bad produce bad. When the Governments begin to enact laws that are
against God and His laws then all Believers should disobey (Acts 5:29). As long as they
bring some semblance of order and laws that are useful we should obey (Titus 3:1; Romans
13:7; Luke 20:25). But we must understand all this is to be done for the "Lord's
sake" (Romans 13:2; 1 Peter 2:13). All Christians should Pray for their leaders (1
Timothy 2:1,2; Jeremiah 29;7).
DIVORCE - We
believe that divorce for "just
any" reason is wrong and in doing so the Individual sins against God (Matthew 5:32;
19:9). We believe that in all cases the two parties must work it out using whatever means
possible to redeem the marriage. God has given marriage for two persons
"forever" never to be separated. It is imperative that the choice of one's
partner be sought with prayer, prayer, and prayer asking God to send the right person for
them. If for some reason the two parties can not work it out, and divorce is inevitable,
then a time of fasting and heartfelt Repentance must be sought from the Lord and an
confessing of sin and turning again to God, but never let this be, an "easy out"
for individuals. for that is premeditated sin.
MARRIAGE
- We are convinced that marriage was Divinely instituted by God (Genesis 2:24,25). And is
intended for happiness of Man, increasing the human race, raising up godly seed , and
prevention of fornication (Genesis 2:18; 1:28; Malachi 2:15; 1 Corinthians 7:2). Marriage
is lawful and honorable (1 Corinthians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4). Believers are to marry only in
the Lord in other words believers must marry believers not unbelievers (1 Corinthians
7:39). Indissoluble during the joint lives of the two parties (Matthew 19:6; Romans 7:2,3;
1 Corinthians 7:39). It should be with the consent of the parents (Genesis 28:8; Judges
14:2,3). Adultery is forbidden and punishable (Deuteronomy 22:23; Matthew 1:19; Hebrews
13:4). It must be between man and woman, we condemn homosexuality and lesbianism, and
bisexualisim, etc. there is no command as to the race one must marry.
ANGELS
- We are convinced in the existence of Angels they are creatures of higher power and
intelligence than human beings (2 Peter 2:11). They are "Created" beings by God
(Colossians 1:16). Their gender being either male of female is clear from scriptures that
they are referred to as male in gender. They are not to be worshipped (Colossians 2:18;
Revelation 19:10; 22:9). They are spiritual beings (Hebrews 1:14). There are various ranks
and orders of Angels (Jude 9; 1 Thessalonians 4:16). The number of Angels is Innumerable
(Hebrews 12:22; 2 Kings 6:17; Matthew 26:53). All the Angels that are loyal to God are
good and there are those that fell or those that sinned, they are called
"demons." The work of Angels are to help (Hebrews 1:14; Daniel 12:1; 11:1). They
guide sinners to Christians (Acts 10:3). They cheer and strengthen God's people (1 Kings
19:5-8; Matthew 4:11; Acts 27:4-35). They defend, protect, and deliver God's people
(Daniel 6:22; Acts 5:19; Genesis 19:11). They are eyewitnesses of the church and the
believer (1 Timothy 5:21; 1 Corinthians 4:9). They guard the elect dead (Luke 16:22;
Matthew 24:31; Jude 9). They will accompany Christ at His second coming ( Matthew 25:31; 2
Thessalonians 1:7,8). They never die or can never change. They worship God and Jesus
Christ (Nehemiah9:6; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:6). They are wise, mighty, holy, elect,
innumerable.
DEMONS
- We are convinced in the real existence of "Angels" that have "sinned or
fallen" these Angels are now called in the scriptures "demons." They are in
service to satan and are under wickedness and evil no longer able to do Good. Originally
created by God as Good but by free will went under a fall and "
now are reserved
under everlasting punishment and darkness" (Jude 6; 2 Peter 2:4). It is understood
that possibly 1/3 of all the Angels in heaven fell to follow satan and are now demons
(Revelation 12:4). These demons are very real and go about the work of trying to undermine
the work of God. They can never increase in number and can never decrease in number, they
can not change, can never be redeemed. They will be Judged by God and sent to the
everlasting fires of eternal hell (Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2;4; 1 Corinthians 6:3). They
can indwell unregenerate human beings, they have strength, but no match for God or His
people through Christ, they have wisdom and are crafty and deceitful. We are convinced
there was, is, and can be demon possession and that demons can be cast out.
THE
DEVIL, SATAN , LUCIFER - We are convinced in the real existence of the Angel
that fell called satan, devil, lucifer, dragon, the old serpent. He is a real being not a
evil thought or force! We are convinced he sinned against God (2 Peter 2:4; 1 John 3:8).
Was cast out of Heaven (Luke 10:18). he is the author of the fall (Genesis 3:1,6,14,24).
he twists and perverts the scriptures (Matthew 4:6; Psalm 91:11,12). he is not running
around in a little red suit he assumes the form of an angel of light (2 Corinthians
11:14). he will lose all and anything he thinks he is gaining except for the wicked (Jude
6; Revelation 20:10). The everlasting fires of hell are prepared for him (Matthew 25:41).
he can and will never be saved! he is evil, wicked, and is the enemy of God. he can
trouble you but, as a Christian, can never possess you. All unregenerate men are under his
power and dominion.
ANTICHRIST
- We are convinced in the teaching that there is "an" antichrist (1 John
2:18,22; 2 Thessalonians 2:3). We also hold to the fact that there is many antichrist
spirits (1 John 4:1-4). "The" antichrist is a deceiver and will come. he may be
in the world already and may soon appear one must be careful as to whom one tags as being
the antichrist. Many have said many men through the ages were and were not. When he comes
we will all know who he is.
THE
CHRISTIAN AND DEMON POSSESSION - We reject the belief, held by some
Christians, that a Christian can be demon possessed. It makes no sense if a believer can
be simultaneously indwelt by both the Holy Spirit and demons. Christians can be attacked
by demons, but they cannot be Possessed or controlled by them (Colossians 2:15; Luke
11:21,22; Colossians 1:13; 1 John 5:18; 1 John 4:4; Luke 10:19; 2 Corinthians 6:15,16;
Ephesians 6:12). Demons, like their leader satan, thrive on publicity they are proud and
selfish. The wise servant of God will not publicize their activities, or seek to instill
fear in the hearts of Christians concerning them. The Child of God who is walking in the
light and truth of God's word and in the total victory of Christ over them need not to
fear Demons.
CHRISTMAS,
EASTER, HALLOWEEN
We are opposed to the pagan originated holidays and feel the believer should have nothing
to do with them. Nowhere in the word of God do we find anyone celebrating Christmas as we know it today, nor when
the Lord Jesus was here or after his birth. Nor is there any command to do so! The holiday
of Christmas is not found there. Obviously if the celebration of Christmas did not
originate with God and the Bible, we will have to look to secular history for it's origin.
Prior to the celebration of Christmas, December 25th was celebrated as the Natalis Solis
Invicti, the Birthday of the Unconquerable Sun this was a roman feast day. The worship of
this pagan deity, known by different names in different lands, penetrated the roman world
in the first century B.C. Under Roman Catholicism, the celebration of the birthday of the
Sun was adopted and changed to supposedly celebrate the birthday of the Son of God.
Retaining many of the pagan customs and festivities. Some of the earliest settlers of the
American colonies, the puritans, outlawed the celebration of Christmas because there was
no Biblical sanction for such an observance. The birth of Christ has as much to do with
the celebration of Christmas as air conditioners in the arctic. The Christmas tree and the
custom of it was common in Pagan Rome and Egypt. In Egypt they used a palm tree and in
Rome they used a fir tree. It may be that the reference to the tree in Jeremiah 10 had
it's roots in this Pagan celebration. What does Christmas mean? It really is
"Christ-mass" termed for the mass held by Roman Catholicism that takes place
called the "unbloody sacrifice" were the priest offers, through the bread and
wine, Christ to God for sins over and over and over again going against all Biblical
teaching on the final atonement of Christ (Hebrews 9:22; 24-28; 10:5-18). Can we who
follow our Lord Jesus celebrate a holiday with those that hate Him and only have thoughts
of drinking and lavish Gifts? Can we participate in such a holiday that has nothing to do
with Jesus' Birth? Can we celebrate and devote time to such a holiday that God has never
commanded? No, No, No! due to the difficult task of removing ones self from all
festivities and family gatherings at Christmas time it is heard to not be involved in some
area of this holiday but as true Christians we must remove ourselves from all that is
pagan and unholy.
HALLOWEEN
- The origin of Halloween goes back
2000 years before Christianity to a practice of ancient druid priests in Britain.
Halloween is a satanic festival, a celebration of death honoring the god of death
(samhain) the lord of death. It is a pagan feast day. It was a celtic druid priest's
holiday for the beginning of the year when everything died. Halloween and it's practices
are Roman Catholic and pagan in origin. It was know as the vigil of Hallowmas of all
saint's day, Nov.1, observed by the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches. Associated
through its name Allhallows Eve. Popular secular observance of Halloween, falling on the
night of Oct.31, is derived from the rights of the druids celebrating the day of Samhain,
when the lord of death called together the souls of the wicked who had died during the
past year. The theme of "Harvest" which runs through modern Halloween
celebrations, comes from both the old druidic celebrations and the Roman Catholic
festivals in honor of Pomona, goddess of fruit, brought to Britain during the Roman
occupation. Today Halloween is a secular holiday started in this country in 1928 and sadly
this "Pagan day" is still with us. for many children Halloween is an evening of
masquerading for "Tricks or Treats" for some it may be a relatively innocent
evening but for most it is not. It is an evening when morals, modesty, and restraints are
forgotten it has roots and overtones of satanism and devil worship. The devils trick is to
make believe that he does not exist. satan hides behind a mask, people picture him as a
red man with horns and a tail, this is not true (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). There is nothing
good about this celebration (1 John 5:19). Colliers Encyclopedia says:
"
after the Reformation, Protestants rejected this feast along with other
important ones such as Christmas and Easter." We therefore that trust in Christ
and have a true desire to follow Him must have nothing to do with this wicked day or
anything that supposes to parallel it (1 Corinthians 10:20,21).
FASTING
- We're convinced that the practice of Biblical fasting is largely lost today
in this modern society. With the onslaught of pleasing the flesh the practice may never
again be regained. But we are convinced God will bring His true Believers to such a
practice once again. What do we mean when we say Biblical fasting? it is that practice of
abstaining from, often times food, but it also has meanings of other things, food and all
that we would rely upon to please our flesh. We must have a spirit of fasting (Isaiah
58:6,7). It should be unto God (Zechariah 7:5; Matthew 6:18). For the chastening of the
soul (Psalm 69:10). For the humbling of the soul (Psalm 35:13). It should not be done for
public display (Matthew 6:16-18). It should be accompanied by prayer, confession, morning,
humiliation.
CHURCH
GOVERNMENT? - We're convinced ithat were any ideas, needs, funds, so on are
brought and discussed among the whole fellowship for a decision. We believe, simply, not
in a complex bureaucracy, committees, and sub-committees or church boards (I hate those)
we would not run into this much because meeting in homes does not require this.
NEW
TEACHINGS AND HARMFUL DOCTRINES - We are convinced that the scriptural
doctrines are complete for every aspect of life, although many will interpret these
doctrines differently, that does not make them Biblical. We reject any and all doctrines
that are: (1) unsound and non-scriptural (2) doctrines that come from "man" and
not from the Holy Word of God. We reject the "Positive Confession or Faith
Movement" which says we can , by the confessing of our lips, have unlimited health,
wealth, and prosperity. And the "New revival." And any "New" doctrines
that are not Biblical and confirmed by the teachings of the early church. Additionally, we
reject the teaching that uses human prophecy to supersede the Word of God. There are some
Christian groups that claim to have prophets and apostles of equal validity with those
that wrote the Bible. Moreover, they claim that the prophetic utterances from these people
take precedence over the Word of God. We hold that the Word of God, the Bible, is the
final authority and the complete Word for His Church today. That no prophecy or teaching
can ever supersede it. We center on serving God and teaching the Bible. We emphasize the
teaching of God's Word. The over-emphasis of Spiritual gifts and experiential signs and
wonders to the exclusion of Biblical teaching is very dangerous. We avoid programs and
gimmicks to draw a crowd. We try to focus on a personal relationship with our Lord and God
through Worship, Prayer, and teaching of God's Word. We also reject human psychology and
philosophy in teaching programs that create sermons that are more based on secular
humanistic theory than the Word of God. People respond best when God's Word is proclaimed
in the power and love of the Holy Spirit. It is God's Word that changes lives for the
better.
MATERIAL
GOODS, CLOTHING, and DRINKING - We're convinced that the scriptures indicate
modesty and propriety in all things contrary to popular belief. Concerning material things
we believe that the Christian should not have a desire to have all the things this world
would have to offer (Psalm 10:3; Luke 16:14; 1 Corinthians 5:10,11; 6:10; Ephesians 5:5; 2
Peter 2:14). We believe that separation from wordily things should be a practice (Matthew
6:31; 2 Timothy 2:4; Hebrews 13:5). Concerning Clothing we believe that the Christian
should not have a desire to be in with the latest styles of fads this is following the
world and not suitable for the separated life for God. Furthermore, the clothing that a
Christian wares must not in any way be a stumbling block to your Brother or Sister in
Christ (Matthew 6:31; 1 Timothy 2:9). For a Christian, man or woman, to wear certain types
of clothing that are unholy, worldly, and without modesty can cause the weaker Christian
to stumble. Drinking/Smoking we believe the character of the Christian should not marked
with drunkenness or filthiness (Ephesians 5:18; Luke 21:34; Galatians 5:21). Therefore
purity and cleanness in all things must be desired.
UFO's
- We do not believe in UFO's. Commonly, many Christians and non-believers, seem to and
with all the supposed evidence readily except the so-called fact of UFO's. God has nowhere
in His Word said there is any other life except for Planet Earth. ET's are imbodied demons
and are, especially in these last days, making them self visible in order to lift the
level of deception to deceive a great many.
CULTS
- We believe that as there was in time past and is now the proliferation of cults the
definition of a cult can be stated this way: "Any religious group which differs
significantly in some one or more respects as to belief or practice from those religious
groups which are regarded as normative expressions of religion in our total culture."
To add to this: "A group of people gathered about a specific person or Person's
mis-interpretation of the Bible." (Walter Martin)
For
the sake of space the following are, in our study of their beliefs, classified as cults.
However, this does not include hundreds and hundreds of less exposed groups which can not
be listed. Any group or person that does not follow the standard teachings of the
completeness of Scripture is either a cult or apostate.
The
Cults listed here should be witnessed to and their practices must be avoided.
The
JWs or Jehovah Witnesses, Christian Science, Mormonism or Latter Day Saints, Spiritism,
The Theosophical Society, Zen Buddhism, The Baha'I Faith, Unity School of Christianity,
World wide Church of God or WCOG, Unification Church, Scientology, Rajneeshism, ISKCON or
The Hare Krishna's, Eckenar, TM or Transcendental Meditation, Hinduism, New Age, Islam,
The Church of The New Jerusalem or Swedenborgianism, Rosicrucianism, Christadelphianism,
Freemasonry, Cooneyites, Branch Davidians, and more.
The
following are classified as heretical and apostate, in their overall conduct and
practices. Roman Catholicism, Episcopal, Lutherans, Anglicans. The following are those
that simply deny any religion or God. Agnosticism, Atheism.
LUCK
Nowhere does the Bible use this word. The dictionary defines it as "
a
force that brings good fortune or adversity, the events or circumstances that operate for
or against an individual, favoring chance." There is no such thing as luck or
chance with the believer-- God orchestrates all events. Rather we should use words such as
blessed or Praise God.
BODY
PIERCING AND TATTOOS This is absolutely condemned in the Scriptures
(Leviticus 19:28; 21:5; 1 Corinthians 3:16,17,19; 2 Corinthians 6:16). http://www.kingshouse.org/tattoos.htm
PETS
People in ancient times kept dogs for working purposes, and some kept animals as
pets. Today millions and millions of dollars are spent on pets. God did not intend to have
animals to be companions for us or have them in cages as we do with birds and such. The
true believer does not need pets for companionship.
DRINKING,
SMOKING, AND DRUGS Of course the believer should have nothing to do
with these vices. I should not even have to mention them except for the fact that we find
many Christians that do these things.
GAMBLING
Again this goes to the idea of dependence on "chance" and not God, and on
the lust to make money. It's a form of desire coupled the thrill to win. The believer
should have nothing to do with this vice.
QUESTIONABLE
MOVIES, VIDEOS, AND TV This is a doorway to satan these are traps to
get the believer away from God's word and set his mind on things below instead of on
things above. The believer should have nothing to do with these.
VOTING
We feel believers should take a closer look at voting and the "decision of
choosing a ruler over them" more closely. www.kingshouse.org/voting.htm
CREMATION
We are totally opposed to cremation as a form of body disposal for the believer as
well as donating it to science. www.kingshouse.org/cremation.htm
INCORPORATION
OF CHURCHES? We are opposed to any form of Church incorporation. The
remnant/called out ones/true believers don't incorporate. www.kingshouse.org/tax.htm
ISRAEL
IS ISRAEL NOT PALESTINE No where does the Bible say the land of Israel
should be called Palestine. God gave it to Abraham and his descendants and not the
Philistines. www.kingshouse.org/israel.htm
FICTION
BOOKS, DUMB NOVELS The believer should have nothing to do with
falsehood or deceptions. Therefore the believer should have nothing to do with fiction
books because they tell "stories" and not facts. We should be people of
"the Book."
GAMES
AND WORLDLY ENTERTAINMENT The believer should have nothing to do with
thesethey take away from God's word and from wholesome activities and discussions
with the family.
RELIGIOUS
PICTURES - We feel that pictures, statues, figurines, etc. of Jesus or angels
are not to be bought or put in Christian homes. We're told not to make any representations
of God or things in heaven.
LONG
HAIR ON MEN - We feel convinced that, according to God's order and nature,
men should not have long hair. Women should have and keep long hair.
We
are NOT convinced that all religions are valid paths to God, or that Jesus
was just a good man and a wise teacher. He was, and is, God Almighty. There is no
salvation outside of Jesus Christ.
We
are convinced that NO man can adequately explain Gods nature and being.
Our own understanding of God has been elevated to the place of untouchable orthodoxy.
Scripture is content to make it clear that God is God, Jesus is God and The Holy Spirit is
also God, without explaining how this is so and what the exact relationship is between the
three.
We
are NOT convinced that Christianity is simply a matter of reciting the
sinners prayer, nor that anyone who has once believed is saved regardless of what they do
afterwards. Salvation came to us at a great price and without holiness no one will see
heaven. Subordinating all worldly and personal ambitions to Him is the very essence of the
Christian faith.
We
are NOT convinced that baptism is necessary for salvation. However, all
believers must be baptized. It's an integral part of the Gospel.
We
are NOT convinced that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the
infilling of the Holy Spirit, nor that everyone speaks in tongues.
We
are NOT convinced of Inclusivism or Universalism.
We
are NOT convinced that todays popular feel good revivals are genuine.
The test of true revival is that it changes the moral climate of a believer and community.
We
are NOT convinced that childrens Scriptural knowledge should be left up
to Sunday School, Youth Groups, etc. too many of whom are dedicated to having fun.
"They are too young to understand such things" is the devils argument to
deter parents from discharging their duty.
We
are NOT convinced in The Contemporary Church/Denominations which is light on
doctrine and heavy on music and drama. Nor do we believe in many of the Christian Courses
being pushed today which, when looked at closely, contain many worldly concepts that run
counter to God's Word. The drive is to live holy lives and to present the clear message of
the gospel to an unbelieving world. Not in the Purpose Driven Life, Prayer of Jabez,
positive confession/thinking subjects which are childish.
We
are NOT convinced in the Emerging Church, which is, in many cases, is doing
little but re-merging with Catholicism and adopting practices learned from Buddhism and
Hinduism.
We
are convinced that Christians should NOT be playing with New Age beliefs,
Yoga, walking Labyrinths, physics, soothsayers, astrology, so-called ghosts, or indulging
in Mystical practices.
We
are convinced that a Christian should have nothing to do with Halloween,
astrology, dowsing, ouija boards, Reiki, Shamanism, people who claim to communicate with
the dead, the likes of Harry Potter or any other kind of psychic phenomena.
We
are NOT convinced in the New Ecumenism, nor that a Christian should be a
member of the Masonic Lodge, or any of the like.
We
are NOT convinced in the Prosperity Doctrine, Word of Faith, Slain In The
Spirit, being Drunk In The Spirit, Holy Laughter, the new Self Esteem ideas, that Jesus
was reborn in hell, that man is or ever will be a god, nor that physical healing is
included in the atonement.
We
are NOT convinced that the church is going to establish dominion over the
earth as taught in Latter Rain/Manifest Sons of God and related theologies. (including
Kingdom Now/Dominion Theology, Progressive Revelation, Revival/Harvest, Joels Army,
Replacement Theology, Post-Millennial Eschatology, Territorial Warfare, Ecumenism,
Restoration of Apostles and Prophets, Jubilee/Feast of Tabernacles, the
Post-denominational Church and on and on ad nauseam).
We
are NOT convinced that the sign gifts have been done away with, but nor do we
believe that every person has all the gifts. Moreover, we do not believe in New Revelation
but that God has, and does, sometimes give special revelation to accomplish His purposes.
We
are NOT convinced that Homosexuality is just an alternative lifestyle and
that abortion, and divorce is simply a matter of a choice. (God abhors all three, and all
three are sin).
We
are convinced that people should NOT be playing God. Euthanasia, Cloning and
Stem cell research, among other things, should be strongly opposed by all Christians.
We
are convinced that no one really knows every single detail of end times
events and certainly not the exact chronological order, We all know the final outcome but
for the present there are plenty of life and death issues at hand. However, we are
convinced that the church had better prepare herself to go through the tribulation.
